How do I get my bookings into Whimbrel?

Forward a booking confirmation to your private Whimbrel address, connect Gmail so new bookings are added automatically, or connect almost any other inbox over IMAP, including iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail, and AOL. You can also add a trip by hand.

What kinds of bookings can it read?

Flights, lodging, restaurants, activities, and transport are all supported. Whimbrel reads the dates, times, places, and confirmation numbers and files each one on the right day.

Do I have to connect my email?

No. Forwarding email is optional. You can connect Gmail or almost any other inbox over IMAP (iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail, AOL, and more), forward messages yourself, or build a trip entirely by hand. You never have to connect your inbox.

How does the assistant work?

A large language model reads the email you forward and proposes itinerary items. Automated extraction can be imperfect, so you stay in control and can edit or undo anything it creates.

Is my travel data private?

We only accept forwarded mail from senders you approve, and we do not sell your personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Does Whimbrel send email or change my inbox?

No. Whimbrel only reads the booking emails you forward or that arrive in a connected inbox. It never sends mail, replies, or acts on anyone's behalf. It will only label or archive messages in a connected Gmail account if you turn that on, and it is off by default.

Can I share a trip with other people?

Yes. Share a trip with the people you are traveling with as fellow planners or as read-only watchers, and publish a read-only link or calendar feed when you want to.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes. Whimbrel works on the web today, with native iPhone and Android apps on the way. Your whole itinerary stays available, including a read-only view when you are offline.
