Delete your account

Whimbrel is a travel app that turns forwarded booking confirmations into an organized itinerary. You can ask us to delete your Whimbrel account and its data at any time. This page explains how to make that request and what happens to your data.

How to request deletion

1. If you can sign in, open Settings, tap "Delete account" at the bottom, and confirm. Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.
2. If you cannot sign in, submit the form below with the email address on your account.

When you use the form, we email a confirmation link to that address. Once you open it and confirm, the account and its data are permanently deleted, as described below.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your account and profile, including your email address, avatar, and preferences.
• The booking emails you forwarded to Whimbrel, including their attachments.
• Your passports, traveler preferences, and people connections.
• Connected inboxes and any tokens for apps or assistants you authorized.
• Your sessions, notifications, and registered devices.

What is kept

• Trips you share with other travelers stay with them, and one of them becomes the owner.
• Trips only you were on are detached from your account. No one can open them, including through share links.
• You are removed from other people's trips. Items, expenses, and messages you added to a shared trip stay on it, shown as added by a former member.
• We may retain a limited record of the deletion request itself, and any information we are required to keep to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Retention period

Your data is removed from the live Whimbrel app immediately when the account is deleted. Residual copies in our encrypted backups are purged as those backups expire, within 30 days.
